Team Roping Practice Cattle – Longhorns

I like to buy longhorn heifers and steers to work my dogs on. I keep these cattle until their horns are mature enough to rope, and then I sell them for practice cattle. The price varies according to the market. One thing about these: by the time I get through dogging them around, they’re pretty gentle and easy to handle. Call if you need some less expensive cattle (compared to corridas) to practice on.

This was how the kennel dogs got their work: longhorns gave the young dogs a real, moving target to learn on, and the cattle got a lifetime of gentle handling in return. The same working style powered the track dog program that kept the Walker Club Lambs show-fit.
